Aaron Baddeley Putting His Way To The Top

By Darren

A super hot putting performance sent former champion Aaron Baddeley rocketing up the leaderboard to just one shot off the lead and into a tie for second place when darkness halted the second round of the Northern Trust Open.

A day after taking seven putts on a disastrous two-hole run, Baddeley took just the same amount of putts on the final six holes at Riviera Country Club, amassing five birdies, including four in a row to finish.

It was vintage putting from the Victorian, who has always been one of the best on the US PGA tour, helping him to a 6-under 65 and placing him at 8-under 134 for the week.

The 2011 event champion sits just a stroke behind South Korean Sang-Moon Bae (66) who grabbed the lead at 9-under.
