Tiger Woods Wins The Players

By Darren

Tiger Woods has earned his 4th P.G.A Tour victory for 2013 with a win at the 2013 Players championship at the famous Sawgrass course.

This win sees Tiger closing in on Sam Sneads record of 82 P.G.A. Tour wins as woods now stands with 78 wins and with this win his 4th from just his last 5 outings.

It was a shame to see Segio Garcia stumble late on the famous 17th hole after taking a 7 on the par 3 hole. All week it was clear the pairing of Woods and Garcia was full of tension and in the end I think Garcia just tried to hard to beat Tiger and that bought him undone.

Making his 300th career start on the PGA Tour – he also won on his 100th and 200th starts – Woods birdied the second and fourth to move into the outright lead and, after a bogey on the sixth when his approach hit a tree short of the green, bounced back with a birdie from 15ft on the seventh.

That meant Woods's closing 70 and 13-under-par total of 275 was good enough for a two-shot win over Lingmerth, Jeff Maggert and Kevin Streelman.
