2012 Justin Timberlake’s Shrinners Golf Tournament

By Darren

There are many major golf tournaments that the professionals compete in.  However, once in a while there is a time that the pros have to slow down and use their talents for more important causes by competing in charity events of all kinds.  A charity event did take place last week when Justin Timberlake hosted his annual Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.  .

Even though this tournament was for charity, the participants couldn’t help but put on a show.  This was a very exciting tournament.  The TPC Summerin was not a very tough course and the incredibly low scores reflected that.  The winner Ryan Moore at -24 held off Brendon de Jonge coming in a close 2nd at -23.

This was not a very high stakes and high stature tournament and as a result there were not many big names such as McElroy or Woods but this did allow some of the younger and unexposed players a chance to shine.

This is exactly what happened for players like Ryan Moore in this tournament.  Moore isn’t exactly a household name such as someone like Phil Mickleson.  Never the less, with a win in this tournament with such an impressive score helped this young player along with many others rise in the rankings of the few well known golfers.

All in all, the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open was a big success considering that most of the players winnings go to charity.  As for the actual golfing aspect of it the level of simplicity of the course did show in the incredibly low scores.
